Ängsö offers a fair and pleasant archipelago environment with all of the colourful floral displays for which the Roslagen archipelago is known. It is an unusual type of national park – a cultural landscape from the 19th century, well preserved and exceptionally authentic.

Recreating important habitats

Restoration work is underway to recreate old meadows and pastureland in Ängsö National Park. The restorations will take place during several years and some areas of the island may look messy. However, with time, the restored areas will become rich habitats for many species of flora and fauna, and flowering meadows will meet visitors. The restorations are part of the EU funded project LIFE RestoRED.
