Seal safari at Säludden

The hideaway within Säludden enables you to see seals at rest up close.

About the activity

To get there, take the Säludden trail from Lägerplatsen. At the end of the trail you walk on a footbridge in the seal protection area. Your not allowed to walk outside the footbridge.

As many as 130 seals have been seen simultaneously, but normally there are 3-5 seals lying on the rocks. The seals go up on their rocks only if the waves are not too high, which is why calm weather or southerly winds provide the best conditions for observing the grey seals. You also get close to shorebirds and seabirds that spend time on the point, including several species that nest there.
