Plant Life

In large parts of the forest, the pine heaths, where few species are present, spread out their mats of reindeer lichen, crowberry and heather sprigs.

Many species of fungi, moss and lichen grow on deadwood in the old-growth forest. In the swamp’s various environments, bogs, marshes and tarns, plants such as the carnivorous sundew, bog orchid and slender cottongrass flourish. There are also orchids here, such as early marsh orchids, creeping lady's tresses and heath spotted orchids.
